I got to wear my fancy pancy British helmet for the first time today after waiting over 6 MONTHS for the visors that I needed for it. It was perfect and made me feel like a racer, or an astronaut. Got back from Spain not quite a month ago, and that was fabulous. The best part seriously, was seeing my friend and her sweet kiddos. I'm going to try and save to take Alice over in a couple of years. Work is work, life is great. Coons in the attic seemed to have moved. Must run lots of plumbing lines under the house. I really don't have much to complain about...I'm so content and hopefull.

So aside from starting a small but very smoky fire and singing my hair and eyelashes, Thanksgiving was great!! Lots of friends and family, including my sister from Florida and my two gymnast nieces who I rarely see. The mulled wine was good! The turkey came out well cooked, and Henry hit the hay early. It was a good day.

I know this is rather late in coming...Had an extra long Labor Day weekend in Virginia. Stayed with Tommy and Mauricio in their fabulous turn of the century Victorian house in old southwest. Pushed all the way through the first day, which sucked and made me very irritated, but took two days on the way back, and that was very nice. Poor BF did not have much to say at times, being surrounded by gay men ;) Very nice visit though, and even mended a very old damaged friendship. Then, after I got back last Tuesday, the house/garage across the street behind the church got busted, so that was exciting. I took my first motorcycle drive, and...yes, I did put it down and one point. :( Just a few minor scratches and bruises on the bike and me. Yesterday I drove about twenty miles, with no problems. I'm extremely bummed about my camera though. We took it to Virginia, and into the house, but it was missing the entire trip, and remains so. It was a brand new camera, and a gift, so I am really upset. September is really busy. Worked last weekend, Alice's birthday is this coming weekend, and then I'm supposed to go on a lake weekend. My booksale at the library did dreadfully, but at least it is over. Big Read is making things a little nutty here at the library, but I've pretty much dropped the ball on that. Oh yes! Alice is potty trained!!! Very few accidents, and none in Virginia! I'm so proud of my baby. And Henry has four teeth and is almost walking.

Finally, a bit of a break in the miserable heat wave. Attended a double birthday party yesterdy for the grandkids, and that was, well, interesting. I got the girls books, everyone else buys plastic junk. Anyway, by bigger exciting news is that I'm getting a motorcycle this week! 2002 Honda Shadow, beautiful condition, and short enough for my legs to reach the ground comfortably. I better get my heiny in gear and read that manual so I can get my learners. I hope I learn quickly and don't put it down and scratch it (and myself) all up. School starts tomorrow! crazy. I wish two things: that kids had longer summer breaks, and that public schools issued uniforms. Also spent way too much money on myself yesterday while school clothes shopping for N. I have an appointment on Saturday morning to turn in my passport application and get my photo taken and all that, so I hope it doesn't take too many months to get it. Planning on going overseas at the end of January...we must phone chat soon, Amy dear! And I guess that is all for now...I will upload pictures when I quit being so lazy and forgetful.

Well, I'm back at work after a long weekend. It was jolly fun to have my visitors, and they were very helpful about the house! Now my backyard has a sandbox, a swing, some play tents and a sprinkler. The kids love it. But how do I keep untethered neighborhood dogs from crapping in the sandbox? That is not cool. Also painted my fireplace and rearranged my house. I love it and will post pics soon. And I'm working on getting my name changed on everything...it's a real chore, but I don't mind doing it. Getting very excited about Harry Potter...

I'm getting ready for a long weekend with friends. BFF from Virginia is arriving tomorrow, and friend from China is also in the area. Yeay!!! And Tim comes home from Georgia tomorrow, and I'm so glad cause I miss him like crazy. And....I'M OFFICIALLY DIVORCED!!!!!! YESSSSSS YEEEESSSSSS YEEEEEESSSSSSSSS, I THOUGHT THIS DAY WOULD NEVER COME!!!

I don't have big plans for Memorial day weekend, but I'm glad to be off work for three days!! I'm going to a wedding with a friend ;) tomorrow, and we are planning on taking the kiddos to the zoo on Sunday. If husband does not sign divorce agreement by today, his lawyer is withdrawing his appearance. Here's hoping he'll sign it and I can get rid of him and his name. I'm also struggling with the question: How old is too old in a dating relationship? There is a couple across the street, they are happily married and he is in his seventies, and she in her forties. Hmmm.

I went on my first motorcycle ride on Sunday and had a BLAST!! I'm seriously considering getting a motorcycle lisence now. The curves were really scary at first, but then it just felt fabulous and raw and free. It doesn't hurt to be in love with the driver :) Am recovering from strep throat so my voice is almost back. Very upset after meeting with lawyer and hearing about all the money I am going to have to owe my indigent estranged husband. I'll make sure my second ex-husband is very rich. ;) |
